Option 1 – Government ID

Before registering for mySPRS using your internet-connected computer, you’ll need to have two additional items handy: a camera-equipped mobile phone and your government-issued ID card. That’s all! Follow the simple instructions and, in just a few minutes, you’ll have access to a powerful retirement planning tool designed just for you.

Before you begin, let’s go over some tips to make registration a breeze.

Photographing Your Government-Issued ID

To prove your identity, you’ll need to snap a photo of a government-issued identification. A driver’s license, state ID card or passport will work great. You’ll be guided to take this photo, and a photo of yourself, within the mySRPS app. So, don’t do it yet.

  • Use a high-resolution camera like a smartphone or tablet camera, rather than a webcam.
  • Position your license to fit inside your camera’s crop marks.
  • Take your photos in a well-lit area with indirect light.
  • Hold your device still while taking the photos.

Providing Your Photo

You’ll also need to take a quick selfie. This photo will be used only to confirm your identify.

Option 2 – Knowledge-Based Questions and Phone Verification

This process validates your information by answering a few knowledge-based questions and matching your name & phone number against trusted sources.

You’ll need your personal mobile phone to receive a one-time link after your phone number is verified. Once you click the link, the verification process will be complete.
