Accessing your 1099-R tax statement
All calendar year 2020 tax statements for payees of the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System were mailed no later than January 29, 2021. Challenges experienced by the US Post Office, however, have caused a delay in delivery for some payees. We apologize for this inconvenience and have provided the following options to expedite delivery of your IRS Form 1099-R.
How to request a duplicate tax statement
Follow the instructions below to obtain a duplicate 1099-R form using our secure website, email, letter or telephone.
Online: The fastest way to obtain a duplicate IRS Form 1099-R is through mySRPS. Using this secure website, you can get information and make transactions at your convenience. Click here to sign in to mySRPS or to register as a new user. If you’ve already registered, you may view and print your 2020 1099-R and those from past years. If you have not registered you must request a registration code to be mailed to your home address. As a result, if you are not registered, mySRPS may not be the fastest method to obtain your 1099R.
Email: You may request a duplicate 1099-R by email at email@example.com. Your duplicate 1099-R form will be emailed to your email address on file. If you do not have an email address on file with the Retirement Agency, or you wish the statement to be emailed to a different address, please make sure to include an electronic image, such as a JPEG or PDF, of your hand-written signature.
US Postal Service: As with emails and telephone calls, any written requests for a duplicate 1099-R will be handled in the order received. Please include your signature on your request. Response times may be more than two weeks.
Telephone: You may request a duplicate tax statement by telephone at 410-625-5555 or toll-free 1-800-492-5909. Please keep in mind that we are receiving a high volume of requests. Hold times may be long. Your patience is appreciated.
